Nick Andy, Matt and Graham, from Cheshire arrived at Sweet Chestnut Lake for a 5 night session. Their main objective was to break their carp PB's and I am pleased to report that after their second full day, all 4 anglers had achieved this by banking beautiful Royale Mirrors of at least 28lb.

Highlights of the trip were Graham's splendid mirrors of 33lb and 30lb and Nick's chunky mirrors of 31lb 8oz and 29lb 8oz. Some nice mid 20lb fish were also landed along with some welcome hard fighting originals.

The majority of the fish were taken on Demon Baits Giant Corn in Tutti Frutti flavour, presented over beds of particles and pellets in the far margins. The shallow end of the lake was more productive on this occasion and some of the carp succumbed to stalking tactics

During the course of the week some fish were lost to hook pulls but overall the guys had a great time.

The insect life seems to have awoken with the warmer weather we are now experiencing, Stag Beetles, Longhorn Beetles, Dragonflies and Damselflies are now frequently spotted.
