72lb Record Catfish to Martin from Walsall.

On 23rd September 2009 Martin Vaughan, from Walsall, upped our lake record Catfish to 72lb, with this
impressive beast, and was awarded our customary bottle of Champagne.

The quick growing specimen, which could well make 80lb in 2010, was skilfully tamed after an epic half
an hour battle.

The fish took legered Roach deadbait presented with a single barbless hook, held in position by a
piece of rubber corn.

This hefty powerful predator, is almost certainly the cause of the many line breakages we have had
reported by anglers this season.

We will be providing an extra large landing net, weigh sling and unhooking mat for our Catfish in 2010.
